Student Advisory Board

The newly created Career Center Student Advisory Board includes 12 student members. Students were nominated based on recommendations from a dean, chairperson, director, faculty member, or other professional staff member on campus. These students assist us in providing insight on existing Career Center programs and developing ideas for new programs and increasing awareness of career-related resources and events. The Student Advisory Board members may range from freshmen to graduate students, and it is open to all majors. We greatly appreciate their feedback and look forward to developing additional opportunities for students to participate in this capacity.

Recently, several members of the Student Advisory Board participated in a Focus Group session where they provided feedback for improvement to the Career Center on various areas such as fairs and programs, mock interviews, and marketing and advertising. We are grateful for their participation and recommendations. Majors represented on the spring 2006 Student Advisory Board include the following: accounting, agriculture, art history, economics, elementary education, finance, international business, marketing, Spanish, telecommunication management, and theatre.
