Great opportunities to get ready for the pursuit of internships or full-time jobs.   ALL students in ALL majors welcome!
Presentations will be given by employers who are currently recruiting at ISU. Dress is casual and refreshments will be provided. Note: all resume critiques offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

2009 Fall Internship Fair

Friday, September 25, 2009, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m., Bone Student Center - Brown Ballroom

An event for undergraduate and graduate students seeking internships. Employers attending this event will be seeking ISU students to fill 2010 Spring or Summer internships. Please check the above link to view a list of employers registered to attend, to view the types of majors preferred, and to view the internship positions the recruiters are seeking to fill. Even if your major is NOT noted, feel free to discuss internship possibilities with the recruiters from companies/organizations of interest to you.

Employers attending the 2009 Fall Job and Internship Fair (see details below) at Redbird Arena will primarily be seeking candidates to fill 2010 full-time openings, however, some will also have internships available.  All students seeking internships have TWO opportunities to meet with employers interested in ISU candidates: 2009 Fall Internship Fair and the 2009 Fall Job & Internship Fair.

Take advantage of the Career Week programs to learn how to establish a leading edge over your competition in the search for an internship. 

Bring plenty of resumes and dress professionally for this Fair -- first impressions do count! Reminder that current students should bring their IDs to speed registration at the door.

Applying for graduate schools can be a challenging time during a student's academic career. The Career Center has partnered with Kaplan again this year to schedule free practice GRE and GMAT tests for students considering graduate school.

2009 Fall Job & Internship Fair

Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Redbird Arena

Recruiters will represent Fortune 500 companies, small and mid-sized businesses, local and state government agencies, social service agencies, and graduate/ professional schools. All or most of the employers will be seeking candidates to fill full-time openings expected for 2010. Some employers will also be seeking to fill internship positions. Refer to the above link to view a list of the employers registered to attend and the positions they are seeking to fill (jobs and internships).

All students (freshmen to seniors, plus graduate students) and alumni are welcome to attend this annual Fair! Even if your major is not mentioned in the list of preferred majors, proactively discuss professional opportunities/ possibilities with the recruiters. Find out the range and variety of majors they typically hire.

Bring plenty of resumes and dress professionally for this Fair -- first impressions do count! Reminder that current students should bring their IDs to speed registration at the door. Students from other universities are also invited to attend.

Be aware that some employers will be scheduling "Late Night Interviews" during the Fair and will conduct them in the Career Center (185 SSB) starting at 3:30 p.m.

Shuttle service will be provided for students from the Bone Student Center circle on the west side of the building to Redbird Arena the day of the event.

Monster College Advantage

Monster College Advantage is a FREE dynamic presentation that will help students own their college experience and achieve the best possible result from their time in college – a degree and a great career. This interactive, on-campus presentation helps students recognize that the choices they can make during their first year on campus can have a major impact on future opportunities. The program is delivered by a professional speaker and students will be actively involved in engaging interactive activities. Students will also be provided with accompanying presentation materials that they can keep for future reference.

Ultimate Money Skills

Ultimate Money Skills: Scholars, Dollars, Budgets & Bills empowers college students to develop smart money management skills and ultimately achieve financial independence. This FREE 60-minute, interactive, assembly-style presentation helps students recognize that the choices they make about money while in college can have a direct impact on their future financial success and gives them the information they need to make better decisions going forward.

The program shows students how to:

  • Achieve the critical understanding of appropriate credit use
  • Understand the basics of banking
  • Design their own budget
  • Take control of student loan debt
  • Invest for their future
  • Protect their identity

2009 Fall Educators' Job Fair

Thursday, November 5, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Bone Student Center - Brown Ballroom

This event features local, state and national school districts who are seeking qualified candidates for teaching, administrative, and support services positions, as well as related agencies who are seeking to fill non-teaching positions. This is a particularly good event for seniors graduating in December 2009 or May 2010 to attend. However, all education majors (freshmen – seniors, graduate students) and alumni are welcome to attend this fair! Come prepared with a supply of resumes and dress professionally. Some districts will conduct interviews during the event. Reminder that current students should bring their IDs to speed registration at the door. NOTE - students and alumni from other universities are welcome to participate in this event.
