Student Code of Conduct

What you do as a student reflects upon the image and reputation of other students and the University. Learn more about the Student Code of Conduct.

Policies & Expectations

As an Illinois State student, you are held accountable to the Student Code of Conduct. Similarly, you are also held to professional expectations when you seek the services of the Career Center or schedule a mock or on-campus interview. Your conduct as a student directly impacts the image of other Illinois State students, the Career Center, and the University.

Therefore, it is extremely important that you are aware of the following points, as well as the "Student No-Show Policy" and general student responsibilities and expectations.

  • Keep scheduled mock interviews, on-campus interviews, and appointments with Career Advisors. Notify the Career Center of a cancellation or late arrival in a timely manner.
  • Act professionally, ethically, honestly, and with integrity. Respect staff, fellow students, and employers. Refer to the Educating Illinois Web site for the University's strategic plan that includes the University's core values and mission.
  • Dress appropriately in situations that require professional or business casual dress, such as professional events, on-campus and mock interviews, and career fairs. Read more information regarding professional attire.
