The word “credentials” is used often in the field of nursing to describe a number of different documents that are used to denote official evaluations and/or proficiencies (attaining, surpassing standards). You may find that some employers will request a copy of your credentials and others will not. As a result, it would be a good idea to make sure that you have your information in order in case you receive such a request.
A regularly used meaning of credentials is used by some healthcare employers to describe a hard copy file of documents that provides candidate a certain credibility with employers. The Career Center is where your official credential file is maintained.
